OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  1. Harry Gustafson, 21, of Radley Road, Abingdon, admitted possessing cannabis, a class B drug, in Abingdon on August 24. He was fined £266 and told to pay a £27 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  2. Arthur McDonagh, 22, of Edgecombe Road, Barton, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with formal notices served on December 19 and March 20 by South Oxfordshire District Council requesting information about the disposal of controlled waste from the Old Coach House, South Green, Kidlington, on October 6, 2012 and November 6, 2012. He also admitted failing to surrender to the custody of Oxford Magistrates’ Court on October 6. He was fined £500 and told to pay a £50 victims’ surcharge and £300 costs.
  3. Gordon McKay, 39, of Sutton Wick Lane, Drayton, near Abingdon, admitted stealing alcohol and meat worth £12 from the Co-operative, in Didcot, on July 9. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £12 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  4. Tom East, 23, of no fixed address, was convicted of two counts of assault by beating on August 14 and 18 in Oxford. He was given a two-month prison sentence because the attacks were so serious, they were on a vulnerable person and they were sustained.
  5. Ricky Barrett, 32, of Holland Place, Oxford, admitted drink-driving in Stapleton Road, Oxford, on June 28. He had 91 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. He was given a 36-month driving ban and made subject to a community order with 100 hours of unpaid work. He was told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  6. Mukhtar Hamid, 42, of Brasenose Driftway, Cowley, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Hythe Bridge Street, Oxford, on August 22. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £80 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  7. Graham Marshall, 55, of Richardson Court, Bath Street, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place in Bertie Place, Oxford on September 25. He was fined £20 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  8. James Butterworth, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing three bottles of spirits worth £97.50 from Tesco, in Magdalen Street, Oxford, on September 20. He also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence in Magdalen Street, Oxford, on September 20. A community order was made with a drug rehabilitation requirement for six months and supervision requirement for nine months. He was told to pay £32.50 compensation and a £60 victims’ surcharge.
  9. Jack Hulboj, 43, of Marston Road, Oxford, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence in Old Marston Road, Oxford, on August 8. He was given a 28-day prison sentence and made subject to a restraining order banning him from the site of the offence.
  10. John Gargan, 18, of Woodstock Road, Witney, admitted assaulting a police constable in the execution of their duty in Jubilee Way, Witney, on June 7. He also admitted failing to comply with the direction of a police constable in Witan Way, Witney, and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour on the same date in Witney. A community order was made with a 60-hour unpaid work requirement and he was told to pay £150 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

 

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  1. David Cobb, 24, of Dark Lane, Witney, admitted possessing cannabis, a class B drug, in Corn Street, Witney, on September 3. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  2. John Cox, 55, of Prichard Road, Headington, admitted speeding at 35mph, over the 30mph limit, on Cowley Road, Oxford, on February 2. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. His licence was endorsed with three points.
  3. Joao Nirvanda, 27, of Nowell Road, Oxford, admitted speeding at 35mph, over the 30mph limit, on Iffley Road, Oxford, on February 1. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. His licence was endorsed with three points.
  4. Clauberg de Souza, 58, of Watlington Road, Cowley, admitted speeding at 50mph on the 40mph Henley Road, in Benson, on January 30. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  5. Stephen Dorrian, 54, of Holley Crescent, Headington, admitted speeding at 54mph in a 30mph zone on Headington Road, Oxford, on March 1. He was fined £375 and ordered to pay a £38 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. His licence was endorsed with six points.
  6. Laurence Helgesen, 38, of Greenway, Thame, admitted speeding at 35mph on the 30mph Kingsey Road, in Thame, on February 4. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £45 costs. His licence was endorsed with three points.
  7. Emma Jones, 32, of Roundhead Drive, Thame, admitted speeding at 53mph in a 30mph zone on the A41 at Wotton Underwood, in Buckinghamshire, on March 18. He was fined £180 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Her licence was endorsed with six points.
  8. Philip Lay, 43, of Tubbs Close, Grove, admitted speeding at 37mph on the 30mph Steventon Road, in Drayton, on January 31. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £45 costs. His licence was endorsed with three points.
  9. Robert Benfield, 18, of Kings End, Bicester, admitted harassing a woman with threatening text messages in Bicester between March 31 and April 2. He also admitted assault by beating a woman in Banbury on February 2 and admitted further offences while subject to a conditional discharge of six months given at Banbury Magistrates’ Court for possession of cannabis on January 2. He was given a six-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and given a restraining order against the victim until October 10, 2015. He was ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge, £50 costs and £50 compensation.
