FAMILY and close friends will attend the funeral of the 11th Duke of Marlborough in Woodstock on Friday, Blenheim Palace has said.
John Spencer-Churchill died, aged 88, on Thursday morning.
The service will be held at the town's St Mary Magdalene Church, in Park Street, at 11.30 am.
The palace and formal gardens will be shut on Friday for the funeral but the park will be open for anyone who wishes to pay their respects, and there will be no entrance charge.
Anyone wishing to leave flowers or notes of condolences should place them to the sides of the North Gate of the palace, in front of the Great Court.
A memorial service will be held in London in the New Year with details to follow, the palace said.
