THE man who died in Saturday's M40 crash has been named as 64-year-old Robert Pilott.
Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court opened the inquest into Mr Pilott's death this afternoon for a date to be arranged.
The 33-vehicle accident just north of junction 9 at Bicester involved more than 50 people and happened at about 7.50am on Saturday morning.
Mr Pilott, who was from Woking in Surrey, died in the crash and one person was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Six others were seriously injured in the crash and Thames Valley Police has launched an investigation into the cause.
