ORGANISERS of Blenheim Palace’s Nocturne concerts have described the addition of Irish band The Corrs to their line-up as “an opportunity not to be missed”.

The multi-million selling Irish siblings join Elton John on the bill for a four-day series of shows at the Woodstock stately home on Friday, June 24.

Nocturne director Ciro Romano said: “We set the bar incredibly high by announcing Sir Elton as our first headliner, so we’re delighted with the news that a band of the quality and stature of The Corrs will also be performing.

“The opportunity to watch them play their timeless songs against the gorgeous backdrop of Blenheim Palace is not to be missed.”

The family band of sisters Andrea, Sharon and Caroline, and brother Jim were a huge draw, between 1990 until they went on hiatus in 2005, selling over 40 million albums.

Their biggest record, Talk on Corners, went multi-platinum around the world.

Breaking to pursue solo projects and have families of their own, the siblings re-banded last year, making a return to the industry with White Light, their first album of new music since 2005’s Home.

They performed a sold-out show at London’s O2.

Their best known songs include top 10 hits Dreams, What Can I Do, Breathless and Runaway.

Support for their show, in the Grand Court of Blenheim Palace, comes from acoustic singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti, whose new album Written In Scars reached the UK top 10.

Nocturne was launched last year with sold-out shows from Ludovico Einaudi and a double bill of Van Morrison and Gregory Porter.

Previously announced headliner Elton John will close the event on Sunday, June 26, with his first show in Oxford for more than 10 years.

Tickets for The Corrs start at £45 and go on general sale at 9am on Friday.

VIP packages are available, including fine dining in Sir Winston Churchill’s Long Library.
