SKATERS and bikers want to get Carterton Skate Park, in Upavon Way, expanded and a new ramp built.
They will put their ideas to Carterton Town Council’s recreation committee on Tuesday.
Town councillor Adrian Coomber said the plan was to expand the park, so that the grind rails could be moved and a new ramp put in their place.
It is being organised by a group from the Extreme Wheels project.
The skating and BMX biking festival was launched in 2004 by those who used the skatepark, which was built 11 years ago.
Alex Oliver, who has used the park for BMX-ing since it opened, is part of Extreme Wheels.
He said: “I think it’s important, as it’s quite a community down there.
“Having the same sort of facilities for a long time you want it to grow and expand. It’s used by lots of skateboarders, inliners and BMX-ers.”
