DON Walcott, father of Arsenal and England football star Theo Walcott, helped raise more than £700 by organising an auction at the St George's Day reception at the Carterton town hall.
An additional £300 was raised in a charity raffle.
The money is to be split between St John's Church building fund and the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.
