162 new homes for Witney town centre

A TOTAL of 162 new homes will be built in the centre of Witney.

District councillors granted permission on Monday for Persimmon Homes to build the estate in Woodford Way, in land known as the Woolhouse site. The planning committee chairman, Warwick Robinson, said: "The vote was unanimous. They felt that the application was correct to the previous outline permission and design statement and was acceptable in planning terms."

Outline planning permission was granted for housing on the land five years ago.
