DRAMA, poster-making, and discussions were used at a West Oxfordshire school as part of an anti-bullying effort.

Students at Bartholomew School, Eynsham, performed a drama sketch in every assembly during a week, showing the effects of bullying. And many signed a pledge as part of National Anti-Bullying Week.

Pupils also took part in a poster competition, had discussions, and did quizzes about bullying.

Deputy headteacher, Rachael Warwick, said: "Anti-bullying week at our school has involved an extremely impressive display of student voice.

"Our students have taken the initiative to run a whole-school event to raise awareness about bullying - a subject which affects most people at some time in their lives. They have done this sensitively, inclusively, and with real commitment.

"Feedback from students shows that they have found the week to be of real value. I am really delighted with the quality of what the students have produced."

To support and raise money for the Anti-Bullying Alliance and Childline, the students in the ethos committee of the school council planned the activities for the whole school to take part in to raise awareness about bullying.
