TWO MEN were killed in a car crash last night - bringing the death toll on Oxfordshire's roads to six in two days.
The head-on collision, involving a red Toyota RAV4 and a silver Mazda MX-5, happened on the A40 near Burford at about 8.30pm.
The driver of the RAV4 was pronounced dead at the scene and the Mazda driver, who was trapped in his car and had to be released by firefighters, suffered serious head, chest and leg injuries.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, by air ambulance, where he later died.
The A40 was closed between the Burford roundabout and the roundabout with the B4047 to Minster Lovell until shortly after 2am.
Earlier in the day, a woman in her 80s died after she was struck by a white Ford Transit van on Gravel Hill, Henley.
The woman died at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. The driver of the van was not injured.

Yesterday, a man died in a crash between a car and a lorry on the A420, near Tubney and on Sunday, two people died on the M40 near Stokenchurch.
The latest deaths bring the number of people killed on the county's roads to 65 this year - 25 more than last year.
