A NEW centre to promote green living has been opened by David Cameron.
The Oxford Centre for the Environment, based in Charlbury, sells solar power, hot water systems, wind turbines, timber frame houses, natural insulation products, low-energy appliances, and additives to improve car fuel usage, Mr Cameron, county councillor Sue Haffenden, district councillors Glena Chadwich and Mike Breakell, chairman of the Charlbury Chamber of Commerce, and Penny Randell, of Second Nature UK, attended the opening.
James Robertshaw, director of the centre, said: "The centre offers the domestic property owner a way of meeting their needs, with a low impact on the environment. It is financed from commission of the sale of environmental products.
"The centre will provide education of the true impact we all have from our own use of energy on global warming and the environment. Climate change is such a major issue it must transcend party politics."
Mr Cameron said he was pleased to open the centre and wished it well.
