Update: Woman's body found in river

POLICE searching for a 93-year-old missing woman in Burford have found a body in the River Windrush.

The body was found in the river near the St John the Baptist Church at 10.30am by a police officer carrying out a search in the area.

The body has been recovered from the river.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "The death is currently unexplained, but it appears that there are no suspicious circumstances."

Winifred Cox, known as Molly, was last seen at her home in The Hill at 5pm yesterday.

Police said they could not yet confirm the identify of the body.
