WEST Oxfordshire District Council said this afternoon that because of the bad weather it has had to cancel refuse and recycling collections.
It said collections due to have been made yesterday and today will be delayed until next week.
Revised refuse and recycling arrangements are as follows:
A spokesman said: "If bins have still not been emptied on Thursday and Friday, householders are asked to continue to leave them out as there will be a catch-up collection on Saturday, February 17."
David Harvey, cabinet member for environment, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience, but conditions remain treacherous underfoot in rural parts of West Oxfordshire and this decision has been taken for the safety of the refuse and recycling crews. We are extremely grateful to residents for their patience and understanding at this time.
"Green waste collections will be running two days late. There will be a catch-up collection on Saturday, February 17. People are asked to leave their bins out until they are collected."
Some commercial waste collections have been carried out today in town centres. Remaining collections will be carried out on normal collection days next week. Excess commercial waste will be collected on Thursday and Friday. Any businesses that have concerns can contact the council on the numbers below.
All bulky waste collections have been re-arranged. There will be a catch-up collection for clinical waste on Monday.
