Up to £500 for good ideas

VOLUNTEERS and local historians in West Oxfordshire are being invited to apply for grants of up to £500.

West Oxfordshire District Council is offering the grants to support heritage projects in the district.

The scheme is aimed at volunteer-run museums and local history organisations, and is designed to benefit the wider community.

Previous projects to have been supported by the grants include improvements to museum displays, temporary exhibitions, local history publications, and the development of educational support materials for school visits to museums.

To be eligible for the grant, applicants must have a constitution and clear aims and objectives. Museums must be registered or working towards achieving museum registration accreditation.

The closing date for applications is April 15.
