A VALUABLE collection of fossils has been stolen from an address in the Stanton Harcourt area.
PC Claire Sadler, of Witney police station, said: "The stolen fossils are 200,000 years old and include a mammoth tusk and teeth, bison limb bones and reindeer antlers. The mammoth tusk is curved and over six feet long.
"These are incredibly rare fossils and I would urge anyone who has been offered these items for sale to contact me immediately."
Police said between October 21, 2006 and February 1, thieves forced their way into the property and stole the collection, worth about £15,000.
