Pedestrian critically ill

A PEDESTRIAN hit by a car in Witney was in a critical condition last night in hospital.

The man, who has not been named, was struck by a Renault Clio, in Mill Street, just after 4pm on Friday and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

The woman driver was uninjured, but left shocked and shaken.

A collision investigator examined the scene and the road was reopened five hours later.
