DETECTIVES in Witney this afternoon renewed their appeal for two people to come forward who are believed to have helped a woman in distress.
A 20-year-old woman with a broken wrist went to Witney police station on Friday evening, saying that she could not remember the events leading up to the injury.
A woman in a car is believed to have stopped to help her, at about 6pm on Thursday, close to the Roman Villa near North Leigh. The woman driver is believed to have called an ambulance for the woman.
She is described as white, aged 50-55, with short dark brown hair and round glasses with black frames. She drove a light-green car that looked like a small people carrier.
A jogger, a man with an American accent, may also have stopped to assist.
An ambulance arrived and took the woman to the John Radcliffe Hospital where she was treated for a broken wrist.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "Detectives investigating are still trying to ascertain if a crime has occurred. They need to speak to the woman who stopped and called the ambulance and the jogger to help with inquires as the woman can still not remember what happened to her.
"If you stopped to help this young woman or saw her near the Roman Villa please contact Det Con Jim Holmes at Witney CID via 0845 8 505 505."
