Car crime sparks police appeal

POLICE are appealing for information following three car crime attacks in West Oxfordshire.

Between 7.30pm and 9.30pm last night ,a 54-plate blue and silver pickup was stolen from Albion Street, Chipping Norton.

The vehicle has distinctive black Celtic patterns on the front and rear wings.

PC Matt Gorman said: "There was shattered glass at the scene so it is possible there is a broken window on the vehicle. There were also skid marks at the location so it is likely this vehicle left at high speed."

Two cars were also broken into near to the beauty spot of Rollright Stones between midday and 1.30pm. The passenger windows were smashed on each vehicle to remove property inside.

PC Gorman added: "CDs, handbags and mobile phones are all tempting items and if you take them from your vehicle before you leave it you minimise the likelihood of your property becoming the target of opportunist thieves."
