RAM-RAIDERS smashed a shop front and stole thousands of pounds worth of televisions today.
About £3,500 worth of LCD televisions were stolen from Corbetts, in West Street, Chipping Norton, after the front grille was ripped off the shop and windows smashed.
A white Sierra found in the street has been removed by police.
Owner Eric Corbett, 50, of Milton-under-Wychwood, said he was called to the shop after alarms were set off at about 5.30am.
He said he felt 'numb' at finding a scene of devastation outside the family-run store.
He said: "I saw a car in the middle of the road. The shop's grille was protruding through the front of the shop. There were quite a few spectators around.
"Apparently neighbours had heard the noise and were shouting at the thieves. I think they were disturbed so I owe the neighbours a thank you."
Most of the stock stolen were display televisions from the front window, Mr Corbett added.
Anyone with information about the ram-raid should call police on 0845 8 505505.
