Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Witney.
The 26-year-old woman was walking home when she was attacked in an alleyway which runs alongside the Poundstretcher shop, The Leys.
She was struck on the head by the offender and then sexually assaulted. The offender then ran off in the direction of MacDonald's restaurant.
The incident happened between 2am and 2.20am today.
Det Sgt Richard White, of Witney CID, who is leading the investigation said: "The victim was left very shaken and distressed by this incident.
"Although it happened in the early hours of the morning, I am confident that there are people in the area who may have witnessed something that could help us progress our inquiry."
The offender is believed to be a teenager in his late teens, but no further description is available at this time.
