HEATHER Roper, a former teacher at Witney's Henry Box School, has died suddenly.
She was at the school for 18 years, from 1977 to 1995, as head of the home economics department.
Her funeral took place in her home village of Standlake, at St Giles Church.
A tribute to her influence on hundreds of students over the years has come from David Bell, the school's deputy headteacher.
He said: "Heather really enjoyed teaching young people how to cook.
"I am sure that many families in Witney use her recipes and useful cooking guides, and may well pass them on to their own children.
"Heather was a wonderful colleague to work with, and kept in regular contact with her friends at the school. She will be sadly missed by all former students and staff and by her daughters Helen and Sue and their families."
Mrs Roper was in her early 70s, and had taken early retirement.
