UNIVERSITY student Simon Lucey is spending this Easter trying to thumb a lift to North Africa.

The 19 year-old, from Signet End, Burford, plans to hitch his way to Morocco with a university friend to raise money for a charity - Link Community Development - helping provide education in the African countries of Ghana, Malawi, Ethiopia, Uganda and South Africa.

Already Mr Lucey, who is studying politics, has raised £550, but welcomes more sponsors through the website link www.justgiving/simonlucey
