Physio died in motorcycle crash

RUGBY physiotherapist Jacqueline Scott died when she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into an oncoming car on the way to a match, an inquest heard today.

Ms Scott, 42, of Lilac Way, Carterton, was riding her motorcycle on the B4477 near Minster Lovell when the accident happened on June 9 last year. She had only recently bought the bike.

As she rounded a left-hand bend her motorcycle veered into the path of an Audi hatchback, the inquest in Oxford heard.

Car driver Andrew Taylor, from Witney, said: "It all happened so quickly. I was about 100 yards away when I noticed the motorbike.

"I got worried when it started to wobble. I thought the rider had lost control. I can't remember swerving, but I did and then there was a bang."

Mr Taylor veered on to the verge before the motorcycle struck the bonnet.

Ms Scott, who was on her way to an Oxford Cavaliers rugby league game against the Coventry Bears, died from multiple injuries.

Oxfordshire Coroner Nicholas Gardiner said: "Precisely why Ms Scott went on to the other side of the road is something we will never know for certain."

Ms Scott had been about to start a new job as head of the Rugby League's sports medicine department, in Leeds.

Mr Gardiner recorded a verdict of accidental death.
