Thirteen motorists were caught in a speed trap at peak school time in Witney and given £60 fines and three penalty points.
Traffic officers set up the two-hour check yesterday between 8am and 10am in Burford Road, Witney, near a crossing for children going to Tower Hill Primary School.
Altogether 33 motorists were caught on laser speed guns travelling over the 30mph speed limit along the road.
Twenty people doing less than 40mph were offered, and took up, on-the-spot road safety advice from officers of Oxfordshire County Council.
The check was the latest in the ongoing Operation Pride, a year-long road safety education initiative across Oxfordshire.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "All those caught over 40mph were penalised. In an area close to a school, they were posing quite a danger to children.
"The figures are about what we expect for a busy road in a town during a two-hour period."
It is the second time in recent months Operation Pride has come to Witney following a similar speed check in Hailey Road.
