Police this afternoon appealed for information after a teenager was seriously assaulted in Chipping Norton.
At about 1am on Saturday, a disturbance broke out in the Cattle Market area off West Street, between the town hall and the Fox Hotel.
A 17-year-old youth, who is from Wakefield, Yorkshire, was assaulted and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with facial injuries, including a broken jaw. He was released on Sunday and has since returned home to Yorkshire.
Det Con Grahame Lea, of Witney CID, said: "This young man was part of a group from Yorkshire visiting Chipping Norton. He has been at the receiving end of a serious assault and we need to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw this fight or whatever may have led up to it."
Det Con Lea can be contacted via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
