Steam and vintage show cancelled

A DREADFUL weather forecast has persuaded organisers to cancel a popular steam and vintage show this weekend.
The venue, on farm fields at Ducklington, is already wet from last weekend's downpours and the outlook is for further heavy rain this week.
Anne Harris, secretary of the West Oxon Steam and Vintage Country Show, said: "We had to cancel last year as well, and that cost us £7,000.
"This time we are looking at it earlier, and making the decision now.
"We don't want to be left with more bills for hired marquees and other costs."
The show was due to be staged with more than 600 exhibits, including 100 vintage cars and another 100 tractors.
