An investigation into a plane crash near Oxford in December last year has concluded that technical malfunction was not to blame.
Pilot Tom Miller, 52, from Chipping Norton, crashed into Wytham Great Wood on December 19. He suffered serious injuries.
The plane, a P434 Piper Seneca owned by Kidlington-based company Airmed, had lost control with air traffic control at Oxford Airport.
It was about four miles away from the runway when it crashed.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch report, published today, said: "Recorded data indicated the aircraft descended directly into contact with the trees.
"No evidence was found to suggest a technical malfunction or defect had contributed to the accident."
