10:36am Thursday 17th July 2008 in Witney By Ellie Simmonds
A 26-year-old man who admitted killing a former soldier has had his sentencing adjourned at Oxford Crown Court today.
Chris Philp, of Halliday Hill, Northway, in Oxford, murdered father-of-two Stephen Pinker outside The Cornerhouse pub, in Cowley, with a six-inch knife.
The court heard Mr Pinker, 43, of Witney, died almost instantly after Philp plunged the knife into him up to the handle and cut several arteries on Tuesday, March 25.
Judge Anthony King adjourned the case to a date which has yet to be decided after hearing prosecutors did not accept Philp's basis of plea.
