A group of teenagers are visiting India to broaden their horizons before going on to college or sixth form.
The ten Carterton Community College pupils are on a 16-day trekking adventure in northern India.
During the expedition, they will be passing through remote valleys, scattered high villages and hilltop monasteries and climbing a Himalayan mountain in Ladakh province.
Assistant headteacher Ed Brodhurst, who is leading the group, said: "We have been planning, fundraising and training for nearly two years now.
"Pupils have been providing catering for school events, undertaking sponsored sporting events, obtaining support from local companies and basically working very hard on their weekend jobs.
The teenagers are also be doing community work, including helping at a hostel for disabled children.
They are taking out 50 football shirts and hope to get a game with local children.
