OXFORDSHIRE house prices in June fell for the fourth month in a row, according to statistics released by the Land Registry.
The price of the average home in the county now stands at £246,571, a fall of £6,673 from the all-time high in February of £253,244 and down one per cent on May.
But prices still remain 1.4 per cent up compared to the same month last year.
Nationally, the Land Registry figures, based on prices actually achieved, also show a month on month fall of one per cent.
The average price of a home for England and Wales as a whole is up only 0.1 per cent compared to this time last year, at £180,781.
But Oxfordshire statistics also show that less than half the number of sales (573) occurred in April this year, the latest available data, compared to June 2007 (1,317).
