A WITNEY factory making parts for the new Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft is to close down as part of a major shake-up.
The 23 workers at the Chelton Radomes works, part of the Cobham Group, in Station Lane, have been offered a relocation deal to the company's other sites, at Stevenage, Hertfordshire, or Shepshed, Leicestershire, after a new company, Cobham Advanced Composites, was formed.
Group managing director, Alex Hannam, said: "It has been concluded that the Chelton Radomes site in Witney is too small. Therefore, it is with regret that the closure of this site is announced. All employees based at this site will be offered alternative employment, and the activities undertaken in Witney will be transferred to the Shepshed and Stevenage sites."
