FORMER Witney MP Shaun Woodward has made an estimated £15m profit renovating his Oxfordshire mansion.
Mr Woodward, 47, who switched from the Conservative Party to Labour, has been celebrating after selling Sarsden House, near Chipping Norton, for more than £25m, according to a Sunday newspaper.
It is understood that the Woodwards bought the Grade II-listed property for £8m in 1994 from an antiques dealer, and may have spent about £2m renovating it since then.
Mr Woodward, whose wife Camilla is from the Sainsbury family, became Labour MP in 2001 for the safe seat of St Helens South. He was not available for comment last week.
The identity of the buyer of Sarsden House has not been disclosed.
