THE Shopmobility service in Witney will be open three days a week from next month.
West Oxfordshire District Council agreed in the new budget to give the service an extra £8,000 to let it expand its opening hours from two to three days.
Anyone with mobility difficulties can hire a manual or powered wheelchair, free of charge, to let them get around the town centre.
Opened two years ago, the service will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, between 9.30am and 4pm.
It is based in the Langdale Gate building, by the Woolgate car park, and is next to several dedicated parking bays.
Hillary Hibbert-Biles, from the district council, said: "Comments following a recent customer satisfaction survey show us that the service is proving to be very popular. Figures also show a steady increase in usage, and there are now about 100 registered users."
The service, which is run by Oxford City Council on behalf of the district council, will cost £38,000 a year. The extra day will be tested for one year, when councillors will decide whether to keep it.
