ROCK fans of all ages will converge on London's Royal Albert Hall on Friday, March 31, for a very special concert, that pays tribute to legendary rock DJ Tommy Vance, who was born and brought up in Eynsham.
On stage will be Judas Priest, playing their only show of 2006, Scorpions, Ian Gillan (of Deep Purple fame) and friends, and new band Boned.
The event will raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Tommy Vance died of a stroke just over a year ago, at the age of 64.
He was one of the most popular and best-loved radio broadcasters in the history of British media, after a distinguished career, which began in the 1960s.
Rock fans will remember him best for The Friday Rock Show, which he presented on Radio One for 15 years for many fans, this was the only chance to hear heavy metal on the radio.
There are some tickets still available by calling the Royal Albert Hall, on 0207 589 8212, Ticketmaster, on 0871 230 5447, or online, at www.aloud.com
