9:00am Wednesday 5th April 2006 in Witney By Andrew Alexander
COGGES Manor Farm Museum in Witney is heading for another busy season after it opened this week.
The museum has plenty to keep children occupied over the Easter holiday, with activities like print-making, a climbing wall and making corn dollies.
Visitors can also explore the farm's Cotswold buildings and learn about the history of farming, have tea in the old milking parlour, and take an audio tour of the farmyard.
The museum was under threat of closure until January, when Oxfordshire County Council promised to add £93,000 to its annual budget to keep the popular attraction open.
Museum manager, Clare Powell, said: "It's always a pleasure to be starting a new season at Cogges. Spring is a special time of year at the museum, and 2006 is no exception, with lambs and a new Gloucester Old Spot expecting piglets in time for this week's visitors to meet them, as well as a new donkey to keep old favourite Mattie company."
