Charlbury pub wins top CAMRA award

THE Rose and Crown, in Charlbury, has been named North Oxfordshire Pub of the Year for the third time by the Campaign for Real Ale.

CAMRA's north Oxfordshire branch picked the pub from six finalists, that scored the most marks in a customer survey during 2005.

Rose and Crown landlords, Tom and Annette Page, were commended for the range of beers and ciders on offer.

The Market Street pub, which also won the award in 2002 and 2003, will go through to CAMRA's Central Southern Regional Pub of the Year competition.
