THE race is on for control of West Oxfordshire District Council.

0n Thursday, May 4, people in the west of the county will cast their votes, and 50 candidates will battle for 16 seats.

An Oxfordshire County Council by-election is being held in the district on the same day, to elect a representative for Castle and Eynsham, after Harry Wyatt retired due to ill health.

Voting takes place between 7am and 10pm.
