New Rotary chief

THE Rotary Club of Witney, which raises thousands of pounds for good causes, has a new president.

Chas Ford has taken over the presidency from Francis Newenham.

Mr Ford said he was looking forward to his year as president and helping to raise as much money as possible for charitable causes.

He said: "It is a great honour to serve the club and the wider community. The Rotary movement is a fantastic worldwide organisation, which is able to directly help so many people less fortunate than us, both in Witney and worldwide.

"We cannot save the world but we can make a significant difference"

Mr Ford moved to Witney with wife Angela in 1982 and has two children, Matthew and Eleanor.
