MISSING Witney councillor Andrew Creery has not made contact with police or his family, despite repeated appeals for him to get in touch.
The West Oxfordshire district and Witney town councillor was last seen by his family at home in Chedworth Drive, on the town's Deer Park estate, six weeks ago, on Tuesday, June 6.
Police said two weeks ago that investigations led them to believe he was still alive. His wife, JoJo, and colleagues urged him to get in contact.
But Chief Insp Dennis Evernden, West Oxfordshire police area commander, said there had still been no contact.
Mr Creery was elected as Witney Central ward district councillor in 2004 and has served as a town councillor for seven years.
West Oxfordshire District Council said it was policy to hold a by-election if a councillor had not attended a meeting for six months.
The same applies to town councils.
Mr Creery, 48, is 5ft 8in, of medium build, with short brown hair and a side parting.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 08458 505505, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
