A MAN put a knife to a woman's thigh and demanded she 'take him for a ride' on Friday.
The woman had been in her silver Fiesta in Hailey Road, Witney, reading a newspaper, with her door open, when an elderly man had gone up to her at about 2.45pm, police spokesman, Adam Fisher, said.
He had pressed a blunt pen knife into her thigh, and had asked her to take him for a ride.
She had refused, and he then had walked off towards Schofield Avenue, said Mr Fisher. "The woman was pretty shaken and upset," he added.
Police searched the area, but could not find him. They are appealing for anyone who saw a white man, 60 to 65, with grey receding hair, wearing a pink short-sleeved shirt, and with a small terrier-type dog, to call PC Stuart Minton, at Witney police, on 08458 505505. Mr Fisher said police were treating it as a public order crime, not an attempted abduction.
