A FIGHT involving about 30 people broke out in Witney town centre leaving a man with a back wound from either a knife or a broken bottle.
The victim was taken to hospital with cuts to his back following the brawl in Market Square at about 10.40pm on Monday.
Witney police spokesman Victoria Bartlett confirmed there had been a large fight and said: "We don't know if the man was slashed with a knife or broken bottles.
"Three men aged between 18 and 20 have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and released on bail until October 17."
It took 13 police officers to control the situation, which happened on the first night of the annual Witney Feast celebration.
The event sees hundreds flood to the town to enjoy the fun fair, which is based in The Leys.
