Police target speeding drivers

SPEEDING drivers will be targeted in Carterton today by the town's Neighbourhood Policing Team as part of Operation Joule.

Starting at 8am and running throughout the morning, the team, in conjunction with Roads Policing, will be out with the Speed Indicator Device (SID) encouraging motorists to stick to the speed limits on Shilton Road and Upavon Way.

In a similar operation in the area recently, three people were stopped in an hour travelling at excess speed along Upavon Way.

Police said the Carterton, Bampton and Burford Neighbourhood Action Group identified speeding as one of its top priorities that needs tackling locally.
