Jonathan Cohen dies, aged 83

COLLEAGUES have paid tribute to countryside campaigner Jonathan Cohen, who has died aged 83.

Mr Cohen, pictured, of East End, North Leigh, died on September 26. He became an enthusiastic supporter of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, and chaired at different times CPRE Oxfordshire and the CPRE Oxfordshire Buildings Trust.

CPRE member Alun Jones said: "He was a lovely man.

"He listened carefully to other people.

"He did not speak until he had carefully considered all that was said.

"He had a quiet sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye."

He leaves Gillian and their four children, Stephen, Daniel, Robin, and Juliet.
