Rain won’t dampen music buzz

THE wet weather failed to dampen spirits during the second week of the Witney Music Festival.

Live events took place at Marriotts Walk Shopping Centre, Cogges Manor Farm Museum and St Mary’s Church – with much of the action moving indoors because of freak hailstorms.

Singer-songwriter Ags Connolly, from Finstock, performed in Debenhams when the downpour started. He said: “It was all very impromptu but I think it went down well. The festival is superb – so much going on and it’s inclusive of so many different types of music. It’s great thing for Witney.

The festival’s organiser, Derek West, said: “There is a real buzz and there are some fantastic acts yet to come.”

The festival runs until Saturday, May 19.
