COUNCIL taxpayers in West Oxfordshire will face increased bills if householders do not return their electoral forms, the district council has warned.
Forms were sent to all properties in the West Oxfordshire District Council area last month, but more than one third have not been returned. New legislation means council officers must visit all households that are slow to respond, and this will cost the council money.
Head of electoral services, Keith Butler, said the cost would be added to council tax bills.
He said it was a legal requirement to fill in the forms, which enabled people to vote in elections and helped them obtain a loan or mortgage.
