AN EXHIBITION of plans to expand a shopping centre will be unveiled on Friday.
The owners of the Woolgate Shopping Centre in Witney have organised an exhibition of their proposal to create six extra shops, and will be asking residents what they think.
Plans for the two-storey extension - which would mean an extra 25,000 sq ft of non-food retail space - will be on show between 10am and 4pm on Friday and Saturday, under the clock tower in the shopping centre.
Staff from Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd, who own the site, will be there to answer questions and people will also be invited to submit their thoughts in writing.
The company's development manager, Neil Hardiman, said: "We have been working on proposals for more than a year and believe that we have taken account of those aspects of the Woolgate Shopping Centre which local people value and are putting forward sensitively-designed plans.
"But, we very much want to hear local people's views.
"An enhanced Woolgate Shopping Centre has the potential to boost town centre trade as a whole, because of its location at the heart of Witney."
