Andy Howland
Man of many facts: Andy Howland

Andy is (with his brother Roger) Oxford United's historian.

Born in the late 1940s in Oxfordshire, the Howlands attended their first U's match in 1960-61.

Early highlights for them included attending United's first ever Football League game at Barrow in 1962 and seeing Oxford beat Blackburn in 1964 to reach the quarter finals of the FA Cup for the only time in the club's history.

After trying their fortune at playing football, the Howlands have been regular away and home supporters since the early 1980s.

They are the authors of the club's statistical history Oxford United - A Complete Record 1893-1989 and are soon producing Oxford United, the Headington Years, details of which can be obtained from Andy at 10, Redshots Close, Marlow, Bucks SL7 3LW (01628 477164).

Andy's email address is andy@howland49.freeserve.co.uk

Roger lives in Banbury, his town of birth. Andy was born in Thame.
