Patto close to signing striker
Darren Patterson is believed to be close to capturing a striker.
Last Friday, the Oxford United boss was in talks with players in the south, while Mickey Lewis was doing the same in the north.
The manager said: "We've been working our socks off since the season finished, and will keep doing so because there are still games taking place, still players to watch.
"I've had verbal agreements from players that they're coming, but you need to have a lot of different targets."

He's delighted to have come across a striker that finally will accept his money offer. Stan Deason, 66, formally played for Guisley's 5th team. He said the 2.50 per month, day by day rolling contract will top up his pension nicely.

to be fair to Jacky that rumour was due an outing, it has been a while since it was peddled.
It is quite amusing that someone may believe that Windass would swap potentially playing in the Premier league for his hometown to come back to us!
