FOOTBALL: Sunblad dazzles with a five-timer

Ben Sunblad hit five of Aston’s goals as the Witney & District FA Division 1 leaders crushed Hanborough Res 9-1, writes Anthony Barlow.
 

Kevin Alcraft, Dan Long, Matt Smith, and an own goal compounded Hanborough’s miserable day, Liam Busby replying for the visitors.
 

Stanton Harcourt stayed in second with a 4-2 home win over Kingham. George Woodcock hit a treble with Mark Cornish adding. Dan Davies got both for Kingham.
 

Pavel Bronk netted all four for Brize Norton as they eased to a 4-1 win at Hailey Res, for whom Dan King scored.
 

Freeland A lost 3-0 at home to Minster Lovell. Gary McKinnon, Nathan Harris and Steven Burke scored the goals.
 

Craig McCallum hammered a hat-trick as Charlbury edged to a narrow 4-3 home win over North Leigh A in the Premier Division.
 

Michael Truby was their other marksman, with Josh Solomon, Robbie Wyatt and Richard Wells on target for the visitors.
 

Warwick Thompkins sco-red twice in Premier Division leaders Chipping Norton’s  2-1 win over Witney Royals.
 

Jamie Kennedy replied for the hosts, but it was not enough.
Second-placed West Wit-ney eased to a 3-0 win against over strugglers Hailey, thanks to goals from Carl Dodds, Ian Sparkes and Dan King.
 

Chris Bowles (2), Chris Souldern, Dan Sollis, Chris McNeil and Luke Simmonds all scored in Carterton A’s   6-2 thrashing of Spartan Rangers.
Henry Clarke and Charlie Waite replied for the hosts.
 

Josh Grant, Matt Townsend and Paul Read’s penalty earned Division 2 leaders West Witney a 3-0 win at North Leigh B. 
 

A brace from Matt Walker and one from Ross Gardener gave Eynsham SSC a 3-1 win over Middle Barton. Ashley Scearce replied for the hosts.
Simon Gale bagged a four-timer in Combe’s 7-2 mauling of Witney Royals Res.
Loyd Edwards and Carl Shepherd scored for the hosts,  but Rob Edginton, Jamie Fisher and Jamie Wright settled the tie in favour of the visitors.
 

At the bottom, Bampton Town beat Charlbury Res    3-2, with Barry Williams, Jake Payne and Jamie Austin on target.
 

Dom Crisp and Kevin Duester hit back  for Char-lbury.
FC Hollybush moved to the top of Division 3 with a 3-1 win over Brize Norton Res with goals from Arron Hyatt and Paul Dray.
Keiron Clarke had put  Brize ahead.
 

Minster Lovell Res stay second after a 2-1 win over Chipping Norton Res. Ryan Penn and James Hearn scored for Minster with Sam Philpotts replying.
 

Ollie Bush bagged a hat-trick with Mark Hawkins and Lee Manning each grabbing a brace in Carterton B’s 10-2 thrashing of Freeland B.
Callum Parker and Dan Godden replied for the visitors.
 

Bampton United moved into top spot in Division 4 after a 7-0 thumping of Eynsham SSC Res.
 

Nathan Beckett scored twice with Conor Kelly, Tom Thorpe, Ryan Southwood, Simon Launder and Conor O’Shea all getting on the score sheet.
Rocky Bourton grabbed a four-goal haul in Greystones 5-1 triumph away to Milton Res.
Rhys Thomas got the other, with Pip Benfield replying.
Chadlington Res beat Spartan Rangers A 6-2,   Steve Hunt hitting a hat-trick.
Luke Bayliss (2) and Will Foster North got the others, with James Mack and Mickey Crozier replying.
