CRICKET: Rump century steers Charlbury home

A century from Ashley Rump saw Charlbury seal a 70-run home victory over Oxenford in OCA League Division 1.
Rump’s 103 saw Charlbury post 244-9, despite 6-74 from Harianth Ellanki.
Hasula Prematilaka then took 5-45 as Oxenford were restricted to 174-9.
Chadlington were edged out by leaders Shrivenham by one wicket.
Danny Harding hit 54 in Chadlington’s 137-9, and the hosts struggled to the target as Steve Hunt took 5-29.
But Will Snell (30no) edged Shrivenham to 138-9.
Minster Lovell will finish third, beating East & West Hendred by eight wickets.
Eddie Dunn took his third successive five-wicket haul (5-13), taking his season’s tally to 51 as Hendred were shot out for 95.
Charlie Fisher (40) and Harry Ebsworth (37no) took Minster to 99-2.
In Division 2, champions Cowley Internationals almost came unstuck at home to Stonesfield, edging home by one wicket.
After dismissing their visitors for 102, Cowley struggled in the face of some excellent bowling from Ed Oakley (7-36), but they edged to 103-9.
In Division 3, the title race will go down to the wireas Combe and Radley lock horns for the championship.
Combe can overhaul them if they win and restrict Radley to seven points or fewer.
Hailey sent Stanton St John Willows down with a 35-run victory.
Sean King hit 44 in Hailey’s 174 all out, before Tahir Ak-ram took 5-28 as Willows were bowled out for 139.
There was a father and daughter contribution at Cha-rlbury 2nd, but Steve and Carla Wood finished on the losing side as Deddington ran out two-wicket winners.
Steve hit 64 in Charlbury’s 156 all out, before Carla took 4-28 from 12 overs. But 63 from Simon Oldfield took Dedding-ton to 160-8 and victory.
Hanborough leapfrogged Kilkenny to seal the second promotion spot as they beat hosts Marcham by 69 runs in Division 5.
Daniel Simpson was the star scoring 43 in Hanborough’s 145 all out, before taking 5-13 as Marcham were shot out for 76.
Tim Martin smashed 162 as Swinbrook 2nd thrashed champions Westbury 2nd by 152 runs to keep their promotion hopes alive in Division 7.
Swinbrook amassed 245-9 in their 45 overs, before Andy Slater took 4-43 and James Belcher 3-5 as Westbury were dismissed for 93.
Bampton’s 38-run victory at East & West Hendred 2nd kept alive their hopes of avoiding the drop.
Nick Pitt (69) and Julian Easterbrook (48) helped Bampton to a massive 291-6.
Hendred put up a brave run-chase, led by Archie Napper’s excellent 114, but they finished short on 253-9.
Chipping Norton 2nd went top of Division 8 after a four-wicket home win over Cowley Internationals.
Dan Molyneux took 4-29 as Cowley were restricted to 141 all out, before Sam Evans continued his excellent form with 89, seeing Chippy to 142-6.
