Oxford Utd 0, Bristol Rovers 1
Oxford United slipped off the top of League Two after John Joe O'Toole's second-half penalty gave Bristol Rovers a 1-0 win at the Kassam Stadium today.
The hosts, though, will rue two missed headers by James Constable as the visitors snatched their first win since August.
Eliot Richards burst through the middle with 20 minutes remaining, and as he shaped to shoot, his heels were clipped by Jake Wright.
O'Toole made no mistake from the spot, sending Ryan Clarke the wrong way.
However, although not at their best, United could have been ahead had Constable not missed a golden chance in each half.
The striker, who needed one goal to reach 100 for the club, nodded a Sean Rigg cross wide in the opening period.
But he then missed an easier chance from six yards out after the break, somehow heading over after Rovers keeper Steve Mildenhall missed David Hunt's cross.
In his defence, it took him by surprise, but it was still a glorious chance.
It was to prove costly as O'Toole, who had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half, won it for Rovers from the spot.
To make matters worse for United, Alfie Potter, who came off the bench after four games out with a hamstring injury, was stretchered off with a minute left.
Dave Kitson nearly equalised in the 90th minute for United, but his header was saved by Mildenhall.
